Here is some information on how get jabber up on your windows box!
For UNIX users, get Gabber (A Gnome based jabber client) OR check out Jabber Client Downloads for more clients.
- Download
winjab, and the
SSL
patch for it
- Install winjab (execute the winjab_1.1.exe)
- Open the jabbercomSSL zipfile, and copy the contents of the zipfile
to C:\Program Files\WinJab
- Execute WinJab
- Make the server illx.org
- Enter a username, and a password
- Click the 'Use SSL Connection' radio box
- Then, Click OK
WinJab will say, "You are not authorized on this Server. Create a new account?"
- Click "Yes"
WinJab will say, "Disconnected from Server!"
- Now, Go to WinJab->Connect
You will see a bunch of text. That is normal,
- Then, go to WinJab->Disconnect, and then connect again WinJab->Connect
NOTE: You have to disconnect, then connect again.. it is just WinJab I guess.
That should be it!
Now you can chat with everyone at illx.org
and on all other jabber servers

NOTE: The jabber client PSI is a really good one! It supports
emotions, and it works on both Linux and Windows!

download it. The installation instructions are pretty similar
